Matshepo Khumalo (Assistant Social Media Coordinator)

Matshepo Khumalo is an emerging documentary filmmaker and passionate conservation
activist. With a background in visual arts from the National School of the Arts and Film and TV Production at the Media Workshop, Matshepo combines her filmmaking skills with her
commitment to environmental sustainability using her work to raise awareness about
conservation issues in peri-urban communities and inspire action.

In addition to filmmaking, Matshepo is a Conservation & Community Activist and a Visual Storytelling Facilitator, empowering others to use film for social impact. She is an alumna of the Sunshine Cinema Spark Impact Programme and has been a Nature, Environment, and Wildlife Filmmakers (NEWF) Fellow since 2019. Through her various roles, she continues to advocate for the protection of the environment while fostering community engagement and education.
