SUNBOX AMBASSADORS

We train Sunbox Ambassadors across 4 countries — Trained in film, photography, and audience facilitation, our Ambassadors host free film screenings and produce current affairs podcasts that they share with their WhatsApp community networks. They #SparkConversation about key themes focusing on gender, land, conservation, economic development and social cohesion using the power of storytelling to bring people together.

IMPACT FILM TOURS

Using our converted solar cinema, ‘Lamu the Landy’, we host large-scale solar cinema tours of African films in diverse communities aimed at raising awareness about key societal issues, and hosting informative panel discussions to engage audiences who lack access to cinemas and diverse media content.

IMMERSIVE EDUCATION

We use virtual reality (VR) as a tool to promote sexual health education — For 2 years we have been developing a series of VR films focusing on HIV education, in partnership with Makhulu Media, UNAIDS, Google, The Gates Foundation and Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation. The films highlight stigma free life saving information regarding disclosure, treatment & adherence, and prevention methods for HIV.
